Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering with at least 65% marks (average of all semesters) in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates – minimum 55% marks.
- Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 05 December 2025 (Born on or after 05.12.1997). Age relaxation applicable:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC (NCL) – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 to 15 years
- Departmental candidates – up to 45 years
- Medical Standards: Candidates must meet SAIL’s physical and medical fitness standards as per the company’s health manual.
Selection Process
- Online Computer-Based Test (CBT): Total 200 marks, consisting of:
- Domain Knowledge Test – 100 marks (40 minutes)
- Aptitude Test – 100 marks (80 minutes) with sections in Quantitative Aptitude, English, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
- UR/EWS – 50 percentile
- SC/ST/OBC/PwBD – 40 percentile
- Group Discussion (GD) and Interview: Shortlisted candidates (1:3 ratio) will appear for GD and Interview.
- Final Merit: Based on combined scores with weightage:
- CBT – 75%
- GD – 10%
- Interview – 15%
Salary and Benefits
- During Training: ₹50,000 per month (E1 Grade).
- After Training: Designated as Assistant Manager – E1 Grade (₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000).
- CTC: Approximately ₹16–17 Lakhs per annum (excluding PRP & allowances).
- Additional benefits include DA, HRA, Medical for self and dependents, Gratuity, Provident Fund, and Leave Encashment.
